We’re excited to introduce our newest employee-owner, Hannah Cormier, who recently joined our Survey-Geomatics Team as a Title and Deed Researcher!
Hannah has experience in land records and legal research, with a background in paralegal work and title company operations. A Champlain College graduate with a passion for detailed research, she’ll be supporting our survey staff in deed research and document analysis.
When she’s not diving into property records, Hannah keeps busy with her photography business, bartending, and helping out on a food truck. She’s also a proud dog mom to Juniper, her 85-pound Great Dane who’s apparently a “Medium Dane” by Hannah’s standards!
Fun fact: Hannah is a dedicated traveler with a love for Ireland, where she enjoys everything from hiking to cooking classes in castles.
Welcome to the team, Hannah! We can’t wait to see the incredible work you’ll do at Sebago Technics.
Can you share a bit about your professional background and experience?
Right out of college I worked at City Hall in Burlington, VT where I first was introduced land records. I helped with recording documents and then started working for an attorney who specialized in real estate transactions. Once I moved back to Maine, I started working at a title company where I eventually learned how to abstract.
What inspired you to join Sebago Technics?
Working in the legal field, you’re very limited as far as how much you can advance. I really enjoyed abstracting but there wasn’t much room for growth, so I was always keeping an eye out for other opportunities that had more growth potential.
What do you love most about living in Maine?
I love being by the ocean.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you’d like to share?
I usually have a few jobs at a time between bartending, helping out on a friend’s food truck, and photography. I also love collecting rare plants.
Do you have a favorite spot or activity to do in Maine?
I enjoy walking my dog in Evergreen Cemetery or bringing her to Willard Beach.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I try to travel as often as I can. I love Ireland; the history and culture make it a hard place to beat. I go every opportunity I get, especially now that I have a cousin who lives in Dublin. You can take a train 20 minutes outside of the city and go for a hike or go 20 minutes in the opposite direction to take a cooking class in a castle.
Do you have any kids and/or pets? Tell us about them!
I have a 3-year-old Great Dane named Juniper; she’s named after my favorite restaurant in Burlington. I usually call her a “Medium Dane” because she’s only 85 pounds.
What was your first impression of the company culture at Sebago Technics?
So far everyone seems very welcoming and willing to help/answer any questions I have.
What projects or tasks are you looking forward to working on at Sebago Technics?
I’m looking forward to seeing what the next steps are after the title research and to see what people do with the information.
