It is a pleasure to introduce you to our newest employee-owner and CAD Technician, Abram Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett joins our team with an impressive background and contagious energy. In his spare time, he enjoys sim racing, skiing, canoeing, camping – pretty much anything outdoors, and hanging out with his cat. Abram, we are so excited to have you with us and cannot wait to see what you’ll accomplish!
Where did you grow up and what other places have you lived in throughout your life?
I grew up in Aroostook County with my older sister. In Maine, I’ve also lived in Bethel, Bangor, and Orono, as well as a couple of years out of state down in Boston.
Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?
Moscow/Jackman/The Forks and anywhere in the general vicinity of Baxter State Park.
What three traits define you?
Friendliness, helpfulness, and self-respect.
What was your very first job, and what did you learn from it?
“Laser Tag Master” (laser tag system administrator). Coolest (minimum wage) job ever. Ask me anything about it. There are stories.
What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?
Plain and simple CAD. I really just enjoy drawing on computers.
What are your hobbies outside the office?
Sim Racing, skiing, canoeing, and hanging out with my cat.
What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?
The employee-ownership was the largest factor. Not so much for my own equity, which is a great perk, but for the caliber of work that it brings out of the entire workforce.
Favorite thing to do in Maine?
Canoeing or camping, preferably together.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably baked beans and hot dogs. Preferably red hot dogs.
Top three life highlights?
Birth, a rent-free summer on Cape Cod, and meeting my Fiancé.
If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
Maybe a capybara. They live in densely forested areas and really enjoy soaking in warm water.
Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?
Either the Azores or just up to The Forks.
Favorite Holiday and why?
New Year’s Day – people usually don’t want to make plans. It’s also my cat’s “gotcha day”.
What is the best concert you attended?
Kid Kudi was definitely the worst. I’m probably not going to remember the best one.
What are your favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?
Ideally one at a time.
When you think about working at Sebago Technics, what makes you proudest or most excited?
Definitely the people. The folks here are really smart and I’m looking forward to gleaning everything I can from everyone, but for now, I’m actually excited about getting to be the slowest person in the room.
