How did you become interested in your field of study?
I took an Engineering and Architecture vocational program in High School and fell in love with the design process. I am a creative person who often thinks outside of the box. I wasn’t really sure what to do from there. I discovered civil engineering and was intrigued with the huge variety it brings. I’m eager to continue learning, and excited with what the future holds for me in civil engineering.
What inspired you to pursue an internship at Sebago Technics, and what are you hoping to achieve during your time here?
Perusing this internship at Sebago Technics was highly inspired by Kendra Ramsell, Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager, who I met through family friends. She told me about Sebago and her day-to-day work, and she had me hooked. I really wanted this internship to better understand the day-to-day life of an engineer and the office job setting because it’s all new to me. After just my first two weeks I am pleased with my choice of interning at Sebago and am certain I will value so much knowledge from this summer here.
How do you envision leveraging your academic background and prior experiences to contribute meaningfully to our projects and teams?
I am a good listener and always ready to take on new tasks and learn new things. I enjoy meeting new people, as well as working in groups. I’m a good communicator and am not afraid to ask lots of questions.
Do you have any exciting summer plans?
Our family has a camp on Mousam Lake, so I plan to soak up as many sunny days with my friends and family as possible before the summer is over.
As you embark on your journey with us, what specific skills or knowledge areas are you eager to develop or deepen through this internship opportunity?
I am ready for all the opportunities Sebago has to offer for me this summer. I don’t have any specific goals, other than to just learn as much as I can while I am here. I’m excited for all that awaits this summer.
